About Sheila
I am a UK Registered Counsellor, a member of the BACP and the AHPP and have been practising as a counsellor for several years. I am a graduate of Spectrum, a humanistic psychology training centre, accredited by the United Kingdon Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP).I went into therapy training after taking my first and second degrees as a mature student. I worked for many years in middle management and higher education.
My approach is humanistic and I work in a conversational style, face-to-face, in dialogue with the client. We focus on the client's concerns, which are explored in a working relationship.
I draw on a number of approaches in my work with clients, depending on the issues we explore. I make every effort to tailor the approach to suit you and to get a sense of how you see the world.
I believe in continued lifelong training, in order that I remain fresh and open to new directions in psychotherapy and counselling. To this end I regularly attend professional development workshops.
