Laura O’Neill

Laura O’Neill
I believe therapy can help transform how you experience life and relationships. I can help you identify and talk through difficult feelings without fear of judgment.

Do you have a specific issue you would like support with? If you’re unsure where to start, I can help you focus on the changes you want to see. My approach is grounded in empathy, connection, and the belief that everyone has the capacity for positive change, regardless of their current anxieties or past experiences.

I provide couples with a safe and respectful space where both partners can feel heard and understood. Together, we can explore the patterns, beliefs, and unmet needs that may create tension, anxiety or distance in your relationship. I believe that with improved communication and compassionate understanding, every couple has the potential to develop a healthier, more resilient bond. Whether you’re going through a major life transition, healing from past hurts, or simply looking to deepen your connection, I’m here to support you in creating a healthy relationship.

Areas I work with

As an integrative counsellor, I work holistically to adapt to your needs. My training encompasses methods from cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness practices, attachment theory, and emotionally-focused therapy. This approach ensures that each session is both collaborative and personalised. Some of the issues that I work with are anxiety, depression, relationship issues, attachment, grief and loss, and self esteem.

Qualifications and Training

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I adhere to the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

As part of my training, I worked in the NHS Talking Therapies service, where I provided counselling for individuals experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression. I also have experience supporting those affected by domestic abuse, addiction and mental health issues. Additionally, I have worked in the NHS offering stabilisation and emotional support to clients experiencing personality disorders, and in the probation service as a group facilitator.
